Music educators in the state of Arizona have worked together to put together music festivals for entire group and individual participation.On this page you will find information upcoming auditions, registrations and participation dates. Because Casteel High School includes ages for both junior high and senior high participation these groups will listed accordingly. |
high School regional and all state
The Regional Music Festival is the first step in qualifying for the State (and top) orchestra in the state. In order to compete for this event students will will need to now three octave major and melodic minor scales up to four flats and four sharps. Additionally students will need to learn the first three etudes in the music listed listed below (for their instrument) and be prepared to sight read at the audition. The registration deadline for these auditions is November 18th, 2016. Ms. Jones will be announcing more details for registration in class.
For Regional Auditions you must know the first three etudes. If you make the Regional Orchestra, you will qualify to audition for All State. You will need to learn the last two etudes to audition for All State.
If you qualify to audition for All State, you will also need to prepare a solo from a specific list. More information to follow.
